Leslie Shanks

Dr. Shanks' clinical work in Canada has included Aboriginal communities in northern Ontario and Nunavut, and federal penitentiaries in Kingston. From 2002-2004 she served as the Medical Director at the Sherbourne Health Centre in Toronto and she is also the former Medical Director of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) - Amsterdam. She completed her Master’s Degree in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Her research interests include sexual violence, HIV and MDR-TB in resource-limited settings, evaluation of mental health interventions in humanitarian contexts and prevention of malnutrition.
